Have you always wanted to write but never thought you could? Did you start something once and then shove it in a drawer where it's been collecting dust? Come on, let's write together. We'll use prompts, do some reading, some sharing, some discussing. Maybe even some workshopping. Let's be brave together. Writing isn't for the faint of heart, but if you're reading this, you know it's for you.
All classes and events in Eastern time.
Getting to The Truer Version
of the Story
Melissa Febos writes, "We all craft a story... the one that makes ourselves easier to live with. This is not the one worth writing. To write your story, you must face a truer version of it. You must look at the parts that hurt, that do not flatter or comfort you."
Let's look at those parts long enough that we can meet our own gaze and see what's really looking back. Let's do some writing in silence with prompts, read some brave women writers and writers of color, and workshop once.

Writing Groups: How, and more importantly, why?
What the heck is a writing group? Isn't that a lot of work? I don't want to read other people's stuff. Can't I just pay an editor? Well, that depends.
Are you a writer? Do you want to be a writer? Is literary citizenship important to you?
Let's talk about the pros and cons of a writing group and what writing groups do and don't do. Did you know, they don't have to involve a ton of reading and editing! You will leave with a few ideas for your writing group (including a feedback sheet) and how to start one or how to revitalize yours.
Coming again soon!
