Creative Nonfiction & Memoir -- Level II

Course Description

This workshop is for writers actively working on a memoir or creative nonfiction project who want sustained feedback on pages in progress. Over eight weeks, we will workshop 2–3 student manuscripts per class, discuss craft as it arises in the work, and use brief generative exercises to help you continue producing material. Each writer will have at least three opportunities to share their work and receive both written and verbal feedback. This class depends on thoughtful reading, honest engagement, and mutual respect. Our goal is to build a serious, supportive community in which writers can take risks, deepen their work, and respond to one another with care, curiosity, and specificity. Interested?
