What is a writing group? And perhaps more importantly, WHY be in a writing group? Isn't that a lot of work? What if I don't want to read other people's stuff? What if I don't know how to give feedback? What if I don't know if I'm any good? What if I want to just pay an editor? Well, that all depends. Are you a writer? Do you want to be a writer? Is literary citizenship important to you? ​ Let's talk about the pros and cons of a writing group and what writing groups do and don't do. Did you know that they don't have to involve a ton of reading and editing if that isn't what you're looking for? You will leave with a few ideas for your writing group, ways to give feedback, ways to workshop, and how to start one or how to revitalize a writing group of your own.
